Welcome to the beginning of Sweet Summer Sun Volume Three!
Good flight? I don’t know about that! I swapped my seat so I could sit with my brother (great idea) I had a kid behind me shaking my seat and pulling my hair! I put my hood up and carried on watching Netflix but I felt I was looking too suspicious and removed the hood and accepted that this is what I had to deal with for the next hour or so.
Landed! We arrived quite early at the hotel BUT across the road is a bar. Funnily enough called BAR! So we had one...
After check in we walked the streets, old buildings everywhere, very ancient, kind of gothic if you get me. Very cool.
We had a stroll down La Rambla which I think is quite famous as it was really busy for a Tuesday afternoon. As we were walking the Rambla we came across a little Irish pub (Hogan’s) I don’t want to say how many we had cause it’d be embarrassing. Three pints each and we were a little bit drunk. We wasn’t that bad but we did need a burger to soak it all up.
So day one in Barcelona is almost over and it’s been brilliant! The Stones tomorrow! Stay tuned for the next chapter.

Sweet Summer Sun Vol. Three Park Güell, Sagrada Família and The Stones!
Hola!
45 minute walk to Park Güell, worth it? I’d say yes! We saw the ‘free’ side of the park as you have to book for a slot, but it was pretty nice to look around.
From Park Güell we had a steady 30 minute walk (with a coffee break in between) to Sagrada Família. Now I didn’t know what Sagrada Família was until I saw it and it was pretty breath taking. Even if there was a bit of scaffolding around it, you could still see the fine details. I’ll be back 2028 to see it in all its glory.
So many queues, so many checks. The Stones were as always.... BRILLIANT! I’ve seen the Stones four times now and tonight has been the best! by far my favourite Stones gig. There was old and new songs, along with some rare ones. The crowd was mental as well!
Overall a great day! Even if Jake got his charger taken off him at security!

Sweet Summer Sun Vol. Three Camp Nou! And Stop Spanish Dictatorship!
Hola!
After the night of movin’ like Jagger we had a steady, yet “we’re gonna be late” walk to Camp Nou. We didn’t even have time for a coffee break! We walked and walked until we finally arrived at the home of football.....? Ok, probably not the home of football (to some), I don’t even like football but I was really impressed and overwhelmed by the size of Camp Nou. Walking around and seeing the trophies and the other little artefacts was pretty cool, and then we stepped out into the stadium itself. Huge! Its really a sight to see. Walking down the tunnel and hanging out at the dugout, and looking around is spectacular. There was even chanting while you’re walking through it! I felt like €300m!
Stop Spanish Dictatorship! Lots of protesting, lots of angry, and peaceful people having a say. Democracy. Love it! Even if it messed up our taxi ride back to the hotel from Camp Nou. Will the world have a new country soon?

Sweet Summer Sun Vol. Three Ultramarinos, Whiskey Freddos and Hard Rock Cafe
Hola!
Sweet Summer Sun Vol. Three has come to an end. I know this volume has been short, but it has been sweet. We spent the last night with a proper Spanish dish (Paella) from Ultramarinos, absolutely lovely! Washed down with a couple sangrias of course.
We walked back up La Rambla, Jake introduced himself to a homeless person, and I had to give him a couple of euros...
So we decided to have a coffee to soak up the sangrias but ended up having a Whisky Freddos. Basically ice coffee with a splash of whiskey. It was delicious! Then we ended up in Hard Rock Cafe... again. We arrived just in time for a Rolling Stones tribute band. I can’t remember how many cocktails we had, but I remember at the end everyone was belting out You Can’t Always Get What You Want! Was very cool!
